John Toohey Chambers
Anthony was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2015 having commenced Articles in 2014. Since his admission, he has practiced in a range of areas, gaining experience and appearing as counsel in Family Law, Deceased Estate, Criminal, and Restraining Order matters.
Anthony’s experience in the aforementioned practice areas includes: · Property matters in the Family Court of Western Australia, including matters with international asset pools, Deceased Estates, and Intervenor Respondents.
· Child Matters in the Family Court of Western Australia, including cases with interstate relocation, overseas travel and involving allegations of risk.
· Urgent and jurisdictional disputes in the Family Court of Western Australia.
· Acting as counsel in Family Provision Act 1972 (WA) matters.
· Criminal matters across the Magistrates Court, Children’s Court, District Court and Supreme Court.
· Acting as counsel at Final Order Hearings and on urgent applications in Restraining Order matters.
Anthony has a strong passion for both the practice of law and the broader legal community. He was the chair of the Law Society of Western Australia Elder Law and Succession Committee in 2023 and 2024 and was Western Australia’s representative on the Law Council of Australia’s National Elder Law Committee in 2024.
Prior to being called to the Bar, Anthony practiced at a boutique family law practise, becoming a principal in 2023. Anthony is available to brief in Family Law, Criminal, Restraining Order and Deceased Estate matters.
